Panthertown Trail Tales June 2021

Panthertown Trail Tales – Volume 1 – Tuesday, June 15, 2021

5:30 PM – 7:30 PM

CASHIERS, NC –

Friends of Panthertown will be hosting an informal community sharing of stories from Panthertown Valley on Tuesday, June 15 at Whiteside Brewing Co. in Cashiers.

Gather Around

If you are a Panthertown regular or someone who is new to this beautiful place, you will want to join us for an informal get-together where we share stories about our common interest.

Bring Your Trail Tales — Listen to Ours

Friends of Panthertown Executive Director, Jason Kimenker, and Trail Stewardship Coordinator, Krista Robb, will be there to share tales along with some special guests*:

  • Mike Purdy has walked many miles in the Valley, as it is his “backyard”; also, he is the retired Trail Crew Leader for the Friends of Panthertown workdays.
  • Burt Kornegay, retired outfitter and guide, and creator of the well-known map, “A Guide’s Guide to Panthertown”, is an expert with memorable Panthertown Valley stories. Burt will join us in July.

Other Board members for Friends of Panthertown will also be in attendance.

All Are Welcome

Whiteside Brewing Co. is a casual local restaurant. We will be outside enjoying the fresh air. You’re invited to join us. Menu items will be available for purchase. Admission is free. Seating is limited. Grab some food and gather around. Then let the storytelling begin …

  1. It is so good to see the growing interest in Panthertownβ€” I enjoy reading your news! My husband and I were fortunate to be led on multiple hikes by Carlton McNeil β€” in his boots with no socks and his very sharp β€œweed whacker”! He walked to our house on Fox Run Ridge more than once to take us to a place he wanted us to see. He was a remarkable man ! You are to be commended for caring for those beautiful trails so that others can enjoy the natural beauty. Take care of them!
