The Great Trails State

Panthertown is home to the Panthertown Valley, Bonas Defeat, and Big Pisgah tracts of your National Forest public land.

The mission of Friends of Panthertown is to work in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service to conserve Panthertown as a backcountry natural resource and to enable sustainable recreation.

Our staff and volunteers are stewards of Panthertown. We maintain 30 miles of public trails and lead interpretive education programs in this backcountry recreation area located within Western North Carolina's Nantahala National Forest.

Please Leave No Trace and be a Friend by volunteering and/or donating in support of essential conservation, education, and stewardship work in the forest.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations in any amount are appreciated and are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.
