About Bald Rock and The Divide:

Situated at the peak of the mountain, the Bald Rock community encompasses 778 acres divided into 120 mountain home sites.

Bald Rock offers the finest equestrian center in the mountains, having 9.2 miles of their own trails and direct access to dozens of miles of trails in 6,300 acres Panthertown Valley. Panthertown is know as “the Yosemite of the East” with the entire north section of Bald Rock as its border. Between Bald Rock and The Divide at Bald Rock (their sister community) they border Panthertown and bisect the Continental Divide with over 1,000 beautiful acres of forest.

Their gated community is located on the 3,500 to 4,200 foot ridge line of the Blue Ridge Mountains. As Dave Bauer dreamed in 1995, Bald Rock is the “Civilized Wilderness” of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Directions:
Bald Rock is located in Sapphire, NC between Cashiers and Toxaway off 64. To get to Bald Rock from Cashiers head East on 64. To get to Bald Rock from Toxaway go West on 64. Contact us @ social@baldrockpoa.com if you need directions from anywhere else.

You will see an entrance to a large golf course, Fairfield Sapphire Valley Golf, and you will notice “Bald Rock” toward the bottom of the sign.

Turn onto Tray’s Island Road, into the golf course here. When this road forks and you see “Bald Rock” on Tray’s Island Road, turn Left.

Continue up the mountain staying on Tray’s Island Road. Pass through the Bald Rock gates. The road will fork again. Do not go straight to the Divide, but turn Left into Bald Rock. The road forks again. Stay to the Left on Tray’s Island Road. When the road forks again at the “To The Barns” sign, stay Left and you will see the barn and the arena where all the fun begins! Trays Island Road in Bald Rock will be one way counter clockwise that day so that you cannot get lost.

See you there!

  1. I would love to attend your even time permitting. My wife and I have some very good friends who live at Bald Rock and keep their horses there in the summer. And absolutely beautiful location! I have ridden in Panthertown Valley a couple of times over the years and am always amazed at the pristine beauty.
